Long Distance - For athletes interested in long distance events (800m and greater)
Long Distance Program Summary – Our program is based on a variety of endurance and long-distance speed training. The workouts are tailored to an athlete's ability through focusing on certain paces that are specific to them. In addition to running, the program also incorporates core strengthening exercises along with activities focused on coordination and flexibility. For those athletes interested in training beyond our scheduled practices, we also provide individually-tailored workouts upon request.
Long Distance is appropriate for athletes new to track as well as athletes that have participated in track. Athletes are grouped by age and ability. Participation in meets is not required - a good number of athletes just train with us to improve their speed for other sports. At this time, we are optimistic that there will be track meets this Outdoor season, but it will depend on the COVID situation.

Long Distance Programs
Youth – Grades 2 - 8. We have two youth teams.
Club(Recreation) – for athletes that are new to track or have not run a qualifying time to be considered for the Elite team. At this time, we are optimistic that there will be beginner track meets this 2022 indoor season, but it will depend on the COVID situation. We do plan to participate in meets if there are beginner meets available.
Elite (Travel) - for athletes competing at a higher level. This team is by invitation only and requires a stronger commitment to track. An athlete on the Elite team has the opportunity to participate in local, regional, and national meets. In order to be considered for the Elite team, an athlete must run a qualifying time in one of their events. Qualifying times will be communicated to all athletes early in the season. For the 2022 indoor season, it is our intention to participate in some meets, but this will be dependent upon COVID situation and meet availability. At this time, we are optimistic that there will be some meets during the indoor season.
High School – for all High School athletes (grades 9-12). The High School team has the opportunity to participate in local, regional and national meets. As noted above, for the 2022 indoor season, it is our intention to participate in some meets, but this will be dependent upon COVID situation and meet availability. At this time, we are optimistic that there will be some meets during the indoor season.
